Arsene Wenger today brandished Inter a “joke” after being asked about the potential transfer of Lukas Podolski. This was after Wenger accused them of not being serious about him;
“Inter? That is a joke,” he said. “Inter is not serious, they talk. There is only talks.”
Wenger also reiterated that he wanted Podolski to stay and numerously said that he was an Arsenal football club player. Wenger further commented on Podolski talking about him at the club after the recent comments made by the striker. Podolski a few days ago said
“I am not 20 or 21 years old, I cannot afford to wait for a chance. I’m 29, and I want to play.”
Wenger reacted by saying:
“Apart from that, what it is to be professional is that as long as you are somewhere, you give your best to justify your wages and your love for the club.”
It is understandable that Podolski wants first team football and to be fair to him he has not really complained or kicked off.
Ever since his move 3 years ago Podolski has become a real fans favourite and it would be sad to see him depart but when you consider he scored a brace in the final group game of the champions league and was dropped afterwards, you understand why he has to go.
