Tyrone Mings has already been tipped for a move to Arsenal this January but it now looks like Arsenal may face competitions for the youngster’s signature. It is believed that Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all following Mings’ progress alongside Arsenal.
The English left back may have a choice to make who he joins but would be encouraged to move to Arsenal considering Wenger’s history with young players and would only need to look at the way Chambers has developed so far already earning an England call up.
However, in a recent interview with Sky Sports, Mings was quick to point out that he is yet to receive any offers. It was clear to see that Mings is fully concentrated on just performing on the pitch and was asked about his head being turned if a bid materialised. Mings responded by saying;
“I don’t know if an offer would turn my head. We have to wait for that day to come but I doubt it would.”
He was keen to stress though that he must just keep performing as that is what has earned him recognition.
"It's very easy to keep doing what I am doing. The speculation has come from me playing well at Ipswich and getting the opportunity here so that's all I can continue to do, to play well and keep my attention here.”
Overall, Mings would be a very good acquisition but is not the answer to Arsenal’s centre back problems which has been reported in various media outlets.
However, he would prove a good buy if Monreal was to move on. Monreal is a very good player but lacks consistency.
Mings would add to the core of English players at the club already which would make it a more viable move.
