According to Spanish paper Marca, it seems as though Arsenal striker Joel Campbell could be on his way out of the club on loan. Spanish sides Villarreal and Real Sociedad appear to be the front-runners in the possible move.
Campbell has been out of favour with Arsene Wenger this season, being limited to only a few appearances for the club. The Gunners however seem to be wary of any deal. Campbell’s deal at the North London club runs out in 2016 and they are hoping to extend this contract before sending him anywhere. Perhaps some first team football may be needed for the young Costa Rican so he can enhance his craft up front.
Villarreal are looking to Arsenal playmaker, and former Villarreal youngster, Santi Cazorla to help them get the dead over the line according to this report. They seem to be hoping for the midfielder to convince Campbell to make the switch to Villarreal, rather than to David Moyes’ Real Sociedad.
Sanogo on the move
Yaya Sanogo seems to be returning to French football this season, according to the Mirror. The newspaper is claiming that the Gunners have until Wednesday to respond to a bid from Ligue 1 side, Bordeaux, to take Sanogo on loan.
Arsene Wenger, however, seems more hopeful of Sanogo moving to a Premier League side so he can adapt to the league’s physicality. Crystal Palace and QPR have been linked to the Frenchman this window however it seems no bids have come in for the striker from these clubs.
In a recent interview, Bordeaux President Jean Louis Triaud believes Yaya Sanogo is hoping to return to the French league and that the club are working hard to make his wishes come true.
He said: “Sanogo wants to come on loan to Bordeaux, and he has told his manager Arsene Wenger that.
“We are working on bringing Sanogo to Bordeaux. We are going all in on this target. We have asked Arsenal to give us an answer on Tuesday or Wednesday latest.”
It looks likely strikers are set to depart the Emirates this window in what seems like a mass Exodus of our attacking reserves. Perhaps Wenger believes we have enough quality upfront or is he planning a big move for a new signing up front?
