It will come as great news for Gooners out there to hear record signing, Mesut Ozil, is in contention to make a return to football Against Stoke after a 3 month layoff.

According to the telegraph, Ozil has returned to full training on Friday and re-joined the first-team in training this week after recovering from a niggling knee injury alongside Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arsenal are lacking in midfield as of late but chances are, Wenger will ease Ozil back into competitive football following his knee surgery, however don’t be surprised to see Chamberlain starting the match.

French midfielder Mathieu Flamini seems to be available for the visit of the Potters to the Emirates however, Ramsey and Welbeck still seem a doubt. Neither player has returned to full training and it appears highly unlikely they will feature this weekend.

Arteta still seems to be out with his persistent calf injury and will not feature on Sunday.

It is unlikely Wenger will sign a central midfielder this window with player returning from injury and the current form of Francis Coquelin. As reported before, Wenger has been full of praise for the effort put in by the former Charlton loanee.

There are no new defensive injuries however Arsenals intentions to strengthen at the back has been noted as of late with links to Ipswich Town’s Tyrone Mings, Celtic’s Virgil van Djik and St Etienne’s captain Loic Perrin. It remains to be seen if either player will sign for the club this window but Perrin has admitted to being contacted by the Gunners:

“I was contacted personally – Arsenal are interested,”

Theo Walcott is also back training in full and featured for the Gunners in their 2-0 win against Hull at the FA Cup.

Both ‘keepers Szczesny and David Ospina are fit for the Stoke clash but it remains to be seen who will start.

Wenger’s injury crisis seems to be coming to an end, hopefully this will result in some more consistent performances from the club before their Champions League clash with Monaco.
