Arsenal have sent in their big guns, Dick Law, to get a deal agreed for Polish wonder kid Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw.

According to The Times one of Arsenal chief negotiators has been sent out to finalise a deal.

As reported before, the Gunners have been heavily linked to the young midfielder, with two apparent failed bids. Wenger obviously sees a lot of potential in this player and is making him his top priority for the window.

Bielik, only seventeen, is already being called ‘the next Vieira’ by many pundits and is becoming known for his physical presence. His ball distribution is also highly praised in the Polish league as the defensive midfielder makes more of a presence in the first team of Legia.

When it comes to negotiators, Dick Law pulled of the deals to sign Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid and also Arsenal’s player of the season, Alexis Sanchez, from Barcelona. He also had a deal in place for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain before Wenger pulled out of the deal, letting the striker head to Italy. The fact that Wenger has sent out his main man to do this deal, must mean the Gunners boss feels this player is key to Arsenal’s future. If he is so important however, I don’t understand why Wenger is finding the £2million-£3million asking price a sticking point for the deal. If he is worth our best negotiators time, surely he’s worth the £3million?

Despite his potential, I would be surprised if he came into the team straight away. It would seem more likely for him to play in the under-21s side originally about all this is still dependant of a deal going through first.

For Wenger’s sake, however, I certainly hope he signs more than this one “prospect”. Fans have been constantly at the manager to make signings almost every window and it’s the same again this year, as the Gunners have been showing defensive frailties. With Debuchy and Gibbs out, perhaps now’s the time for Wenger to dip into the transfer kitty.
