Fresh news from source The Guardian is that Legia Warsaw midfielder Krystian Bielik has agreed a deal to move to the Emirates.

As we reported last night, the Gunners had sent their main negotiator, Dick Law, into Poland to try and get a deal sorted for the youngster and it seems to have paid off.

The Gunners have failed with two previous bids for the holding midfielder, one of £1.6million and another of £2million.The fee believed to be agreed is around £2.4million, including add-ons for the seventeen year old.

It was also reported before that Bielik had been at the Arsenal training ground over the winter and personal terms were more or less sorted before a deal had been but in place.

According to The Guardian, negotiations with the Polish side this afternoon were successful and the third bid for the midfielder was accepted this afternoon.

It is believed that Bielik will join the Gunners immediately, rather than stay on loan with Legia until the end of the season, against the wishes of Legia Warsaw.

Bielik, dubbed “the next Vieira” was clearly excited to move the Gunners and no doubt helped in getting the deal pushed through.

So, the main question now is: is this a good deal? My opinion, yes and no.

Bielik’s potential is clearly visible and will suit Arsenal’s style of play perfectly. His ball distribution is fantastic and will be a strong, holding midfielder. My only issue is that Arsenal are desperate for a ready-made holding midfielder and I can’t see Bielik coming into the team and solving all of our defensive issues.

Wenger will be happy with the deal for the wonder kid, and indeed he should be, he will do well for us eventually, but now he has to knuckle down and get a deal in place for some defensive heads before this window is out if he wants Arsenal to succeed in the second half of the season.
