According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are set to launch a raid on Borussia Dortmund for players Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan. Wenger has been an admirer of both players and it appears that now he wants to lodge a bid for both players.

Hummels has refused to commit his future with Borussia and revealed he had offers from various clubs within Europe.

“I have never said I will stay until 2024 or 2030 or whenever. But I have stayed until today. I will stick to my way of not promising anything and maybe leave someday instead of saying I will stay forever and then leave all of a sudden.”

If Arsenal were to sign him, that would certainly bolster the Gunners’ defence, however he did say loyalty is important to him:

“I am not really known as a globetrotter. I have been with two clubs in 26 years. Loyalty is important to me."

Morgan Schneiderlin

According to Secret Footballer Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin has an agreement with Arsenal for a deal to sign him in the summer.

Express Sport believes however Manchester United are considering a £25million move for the France international as van Gaal makes him United’s top target.

However it seems that the Gunners have a deal already in place to sign the holding midfielder.

When Secret Footballer was asked if Arsenal were close to signing any player in the window, he replied with the following:

"My understanding is that they have an agreement already in place with Schneiderlin."

Arsenal aren’t the first to land Schneiderlin, with their North London rivals Tottenham very nearly signed the Southampton midfielder in the summer, however the deal fell through.

United legend Gary Neville was full of praise for Neville, stating he can play for any side in the league:

"I think he could play at any of the top clubs in the league, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United or Arsenal - he's showed his quality this season," he said.

Winston Reid

According to The Mail, Spurs have joined their North London rivals in a race to sign to sign West Ham defender Winston Reid.

Spurs are willing to meet his £60k a week wage demand but it is believed they will wait until the summer before trying to sign him. Reid is out of contract at the end of the summer and it is believed Arsene Wenger has him high on the transfer target list this window.
