Speaking to Gazeta Wyborcza ahead of his imminent move to North London, the Polish youth international claimed that Josef Zinnbauer of Hamburg had tabled a lucrative deal, which he turned down.

“Josef Zinnbauer told me that I fit into his concept that he saw me as an attacking midfielder. I heard that in six months I would be an important element of his team. He also offered a better deal.”

When Bartlomiej Kubiak asked why he chose Arsenal over the German outfit, he answered that he didn’t want to play for a team that’s into relegation battle. He also added that prospect of playing under Arsene Wenger lured him to Emirates Stadium.

“I chose Arsenal because of the person of manager Arsene Wenger. He is a legend, the boss as they call him at Arsenal. In Hamburg, their target for this season is to avoid the relegation from Bundesliga. This also had an impact.”

Hamburg are placed fourteenth in Bundesliga and are only two points adrift of Freiburg, who are at the rock-bottom of the table.

With Gedion Zelalem and Hector Bellerin standing as fine examples, the Gunners manager is known to develop youngsters and Krystian Bielik could well be tipped in to become a regular. He confessed that it would be hard for him to get through at Arsenal and added that he could become one of finest talents in four years.

“It will certainly be harder for me to get through at Arsenal than at Hamburg, but if I succeed in three or four years, I will be at the footballing top. I’m going to London to fulfillmy dreams.”

He is cautious not to break the trust that Arsene Wenger has in him and admitted that he’s not gunning for a starting berth now despite the defensive midfielder crisis that persists at Arsenal. The midfielder admitted his fears, but assured that his skills would get him through.

I want to prove to the manager that he did not make a mistake by signing me, but I’m not ready for first-team action. I believe in my skills, but I’m going to a big club and I do not really know what to expect.

He announced that he’ll sign a contract with the Gunners once his parents arrive on Monday. He stated that he would move with one of the English families that work with Arsenal and told that he’d polish his English with that family.

My parents arrive on Sunday and on Monday I sign the contract. After two or three weeks, I will move with one of the English families that work with Arsenal. I will be living with an English family and will have three hours of English lessons a day.
