Krystian Bielik was earlier spotted at Heathrow airport ahead of his proposed move to Arsenal and has reportedly undergone a medical at Arsenal. As mentioned by the teenager in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza, the deal will be made official shortly.
Arsene Wenger told Arsenal.com ahead of his side’s Premier League kickoff against Manchester City that the teenager would directly walk into the Gunners’ first-team. The Frenchman also admitted his admiration for his physique and technical aspects of the game.
"He's a defensive midfielder, six feet two inches; he has a good energy level and technical level. Also, it's a gamble, but on what we saw, it's worth taking."
However, he admitted that it’s a gamble. When asked if the new signing will make it to the team-sheet at Etihad Stadium, he surprisingly gave a positive reply.
"It's less than £2 million. It's an awful lot of money for a player, if he doesn't succeed. If he does succeed, then it's cheap. Yes, he will go into first team squad."
Arsene Wenger currently has three defensive midfielders to choose from, with Mathieu Flamini making a timely return from injury.
Given the remarkable form of Francis Coquelin in front of the defense, Krystian Bielik may be expected to play cameo roles until he manages to convince his manager that he’s ready for first team action.
