Arsenal midfielder and winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been speaking today about the effect that the returning Arsenal injured will have on their squad for the remainder of the season.

The Gunners have been in decent form over the last couple of months, securing a huge victory at the Etihad stadium two weekends ago. Arsenal will also go into the fifth round of the FA Cup, where they will face Middlesbrough, following their 3-2 victory away to Brighton on Sunday. The Gunners have a good chance to put even more pressure on the likes of Southampton and Manchester United in the race for fourth when they face Aston Villa at the Emirates.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is confident that the quality the Gunners will have at their disposal following the return of Arsenal’s injured will stand them in great stead for the rest of the campaign this season. Both Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil scored on their first starts since returning at the weekend against Brighton:

"For a large majority of the season we have been without Mesut, and Aaron (Ramsey) for a spell and Theo as well, so to have those kinds of players back is only good for us, and I am sure they will come back and play a massive role in the rest of our season," Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain said on Arsenal Player.

"As you look at it at the moment, we are still there or thereabouts and there is still a lot of football to be played.

"We are still in a really good place in the Champions League, still in the FA Cup and in the league it is tight at the top around the teams in third, fourth and fifth.”

"Chelsea have a little lead on everyone, but in terms of football to be played I think it is quite exciting to think how the back end of the season could go."

With the likes of England internationals, Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck, to return to the team, it is clear that the Gunners will be regaining some quality for the remainder of the season.
