Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik has been heavily linked with a switch to many Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea following quotes from his agent.

Agent Mino Raiola has stated that Hamsik is not showing his true potential at Naples and believes that if he makes a switch to a bigger club, he could truly become world class:

"Marek is a great person, an amazing human. He has a great personality and as a player he is very close to Pavel Nedved.

"If he leaves Napoli, he would be able to play for any team in the world. If I had to recommend a player, it would be Hamsik.”

Raiola has urged some of the top clubs in Europe to make a bid for the playmaker and would recommend him to any club who were looking for a player of his capabilities.

"The problem is that [Napoli owner] Dino De Laurentiis does not want to sell him. I am convinced that Hamsik is not taking advantage of his full talents. He has the ability to be one of the best footballers in the world."

Raiola is the agent of many big characters in football such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba. There is certainly quality in his camp and if Hamsik is one of them, then he must have some potential to be a top player.

I don’t see Arsenal making a move for him however. The Gunners are currently top heavy on playmakers as we have four or five players who could easily fill that role. Arsenal need to strengthen in the back line and possible one more forward but attacking midfielders is certainly something we do not need right now.
