Fresh reports today are claiming that German international, Marco Reus, is set to turn down offers from the top clubs in Europe in order to work under Arsene Wenger, according to the Daily Star.
Rumours are circulating that Reus would prefer a move to the Emirates over other clubs such as Chelsea, who were planning on making a huge offer for the forward.
The Daily Star has quoted German paper Bild in its report following the German source reporting a couple of days ago that Bayern Munich had pulled out of a deal to sign the forward. However the Daily Star seems to be the only paper reporting this news. I wouldn’t read too much into this news until we hear more.
Theo Walcott
According to The Metro, Gunners boss, Arsene Wenger, is ready to offer Theo Walcott a new long term deal to stay at the Emirates. The Arsenal forward has only just returned from a long term injury, and has come back into the team in good form, scoring two goals in the last two starts for the North London side.
Wenger is determined to not let his contract go into its final 12 months like we saw a few years ago. It is being reported that his future could be confirmed by the end of March.
Luis Gaya
British source The Daily Express are reporting today that Arsenal are to make an offer in the region of around £13.5million to trigger the release clause of defender Luis Gaya. Arsenal have been heavily linked with the defender all window so it is no surprise that we are once again linked to him. The source is reporting that Arsenal are to snap up the Valencia starlet as Arsene Wenger seems determined to bring in his target.
Further reports from Super Deporte, Valencia’s local newspaper, stated that the club are to renew the contract of Gaya’s, wiping out any possible release clause in the deal. I would be very shocked if a deal was to be done in the last day for Gaya but perhaps a summer move may be on the cards.
