According to the Daily Star today, Gunners striker Chupa Akpom is subject to interest from Gus Poyet’s Sunderland. It is reported that Sunderland are interested in the forward however Arsenal are very reluctant to let the youngster leave the club.

It had been reported that Akpom was stalling on a deal to sign a contract extension with the North London side as he wanted some assurances over first team football.

Akpom’s deal is to run out at the end of the season and Arsene Wenger is keen to tie him down to a deal that would see him stay at the Emirates for some time. Clubs such as FC Twente and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be monitoring the Akpom situation.

Morgan Schneiderlin

It looks like French international, Morgan Schneiderlin, is set to stay at St. Mary’s until the end of the season following various reports today.

It was reported earlier that Arsenal were preparing a bid in the region of £25million to bring the midfielder to North London however Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol stated:

"It's most definitely not going to happen. He (Schneiderlin) won't go to Arsenal.

"He's returned to training this month after being out for two weeks. He will probably feature in some form against QPR this weekend.

"It's good news for Southampton fans! Forget about this one – do not believe what you read in French media!"

It was rumoured that the midfielder had agreed terms with the Gunners however this does not seem to be the case.

Dani Alves

According to the Express, the agent of Barcelona right-back, Dani Alves, has claimed he has received interest from many clubs over the player’s availability, namely Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Brazilian international looks set to leave the Catalan giants when his contract expires at the end of the season however his agent, Dinorah Santana believes he wants to stay in La Liga:

“He will give his all while he is here, that’s all I can say,” Santana said on the speculation.

“We’d like to stay but we’ll have to see. He may renew but if he needs to move on he will do.

“Sometimes things come to an end and there has been interest from other clubs.”
