Jack Wilshere uploaded his picture in a training kit to Instagram on Friday afternoon with a message to his followers stating that he is delighted to be back on the pitch after a lengthy injury layoff.
“Think it’s fair to say I’m happy to be back.”
Speaking to the press ahead of the visit to Selhurst Park, Arsene Wenger revealed that the English midfielder is well ahead of schedule and hinted that he could be part of his match-day plans shortly.
“Jack is a bit ahead of schedule and has worked hard with no big problems, so it’s good to have him back.”
The 24-year-old has a recurrence of ankle issues, but the French manager does not seem to be rattled by his recent injury for it was not his troublesome right ankle. He addressed his quick-fire recovery from injury and added that his return is good for the team.
“It is always difficult to come back straightaway. What is good is that [he is] already back. That injury was on the left ankle. He had all his problems on the right ankle.”
Jack Wilshere played his last competitive football game in late November starting against Manchester United in a 1-2 loss at Emirates Stadium and is expected to make the bench against Crystal Palace later today.
