Jose Mourinho gave credit to Arsene Wenger today on Goals on Sunday and stated that Wenger has the dream job and is the envy of every manager.

Mourinho was pressed on his relationship with Wenger, “He’s a fantastic manager but I think he has a fantastic situation to be successful.”

Mourinho also spoke about Arsenal’s stability as well as waiting for success to come; “I think every manager in the world would like the stability by being here year after year after year, to buy to sell and rebuild and wait and wait for success.”

However, Mourinho was quick to point out that success must come with the talented squad Arsenal have with the likes of Walcott, Ozil, Rosicky, Alexis and Chamberlain and he was surprised that Arsenal were not closer to Chelsea and Manchester City.

“When I look at the players and the squad I really think they have to win.”

Mourinho was complementary through the whole interview and said that Wenger deserved the stability he has enjoyed and said he gained the credibility he deserved when Arsenal won titles in a period of time.

This was a shock by Mourinho as Wenger has always had a war of words with Mourinho but this shows the mutual respect Mourinho has. Mourinho is right that Arsenal need to be closer and to win titles again as they do have a talented squad and with the right additions in the summer the club can go again. Arsenal have showed an improvement in this respect in the last two summers with the additions of Ozil and Sanchez.

The last point is a personal note;
I would like to thank everyone’s support over the last year as today marks a year writing for Arsenal Latest.
Arsenal fans are the best and always will be. Thank You.
