Arsenal are known to be long-term admirers of Pedro Rodriguez, who has spent his entire career under the Camp Nou roof and the Gunners are now handed a major boost in their pursuit to bring him down to Emirates Stadium.

Pedro has become a peripheral figure for the Blaugrana with the South American trio comprising Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez getting the nod ahead of the 27-year-old winger. Eventually, the perturbed Spaniard has now voiced his frustration over lack of playing time at Barcelona and has admitted that he is foreseeing a summer exit, if his plight does not get any better.

"I am going through a difficult period. It is clear that I am having a tough time to find a place in the team at the moment. I have had few chances to play this season. I will consider my options in the summer and will then talk with the club to discuss my future.”

Pedro has managed only twenty two starts this season in all competitions, but has failed to impress Luis Enrique despite notching up fifteen goals and six assists. However, he did not completely rule out cementing his spot at Barcelona as he pledged that he would make the most out of the chances that he may get in the upcoming fixtures.

"I am focused on Barcelona for now and keen to play my part. I must wait for my chance and take it when it comes."

His current contract with the Spanish outfit runs out next summer and Arsenal are now looking to cash in on the turmoil to lure him to North London. With the influx of cash that the French manager is set to have at his disposal this summer, splashing £22 million for someone of his calibre does not seem anything like a bad move.

Even though the Gunners now boast an incredible attacking lineup, Arsene Wenger may want to seal a deal for the Barcelona marksman given his mammoth experience at the elite level and undoubted prowess.
