Kick off in the Champions League is near where Arsenal will take on Monaco hoping to turn over the 3-1 deficit. The match is being labelled as mission impossible, Miracle in Monaco and lets not make any mistakes this is one of the biggest games in Arsenal’s season.

If somehow Arsenal can overturn the deficit, this may well be one of Wenger’s greatest results and will give Arsenal a morale boost for the rest of the season.

Can they do it?

Nothing is impossible in football as anything can happen but it is a much more difficult task than anyone had anticipated. One thing for sure is that Arsenal need big performances from the defence but more importantly the attacking players in particular Giroud, Sanchez, Ozil and Cazorla.

Arsenal need to play with pride and passion and give it a right good go. In the past Arsenal have had many near misses at these sort of games. I’m thinking of Milan and Bayern in particular. However, hopefully this can be different instead of glorious failure.

Arsene Wenger was asked about today’s match yesterday and was defiant in the following message;

"The desire is there, the belief is there," concluded Wenger. "Football is not predictable but I can predict the desire and belief will be there to do well. We play in the Champions League last 16, we have experience and we know that anything can happen. As long as we believe we can do it, I am confident we will."

Confirmed Team News

Ospina, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Cazorla, Ӧzil, Welbeck, Sanchez, Giroud

Subs: Szczesny, Gibbs, Gabriel, Chambers, Ramsey, Flamini, Walcott.

The Arsenal team looks strong with Wenger preferring pace in the attack, but has played players who he can trust to defend as well. The only surprise and disappointment is that Ramsey has been left out mainly because he can drive the team forward in that box to box role. I would have liked to see Walcott as well but I can see why Wenger has chosen Welbeck.

Let’s hope that Arsenal can make this mission possible.
