Morgan Schneiderlin has been a subject of interest from Arsenal for a long time now, but the transfer has never come to fruition due to the reluctance of Southampton to sell their talisman after losing their stars to the might of Premier League giants.
The Frenchman has time and again expressed his desire to play Champions League football, which is highly unlikely as long as he plies his trade with the Saints and has even voiced his frustration over the south coast side not letting him take his career to a new level.
ESPN reported that Arsenal have made contact with Southampton officials over a summer move even though the Gunners are yet to launch the projected £25million bid. Southampton are known to have promised that they would let him go for the right price and the proposed bid seems sensible enough for them to accept it.
Schneiderlin is someone, who has mammoth experience on the English soil, not to mention his accolades with the national team and he would be the perfect fit to make the Emirates Stadium club a title-winning side again.
Francis Coquelin has been imperious ever since he made his return against Manchester United and some people would find it unjust to usurp the Arsenal youth graduate in favour of the Southampton midfielder, but Schneiderlin is better on the ball when compared to his compatriot and will certainly aid in keeping the possession-based football working flawlessly.
Under Ronald Koeman, Schneiderlin has formed a decent partnership with Victor Wanyama, who is also defense-minded and Arsene Wenger may make Coquelin and Schneiderlin feature in the starting eleven giving Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez the freedom to attack while two ironmen guard them.
