Wojciech Szczesny lost his status as automatic starter to David Ospina following his howlers against Southampton that cost the Gunners three valuable points and has not managed to get back into the team given the record of the Colombian goalkeeper, let alone the misconduct of the Polish international.

Maciej Szczesny slammed Arsene Wenger for not living up to his claims as the former Poland international suggested that the French manager let his son leave to a club with similar ambitions.

He brought compatriot Lukasz Fabianski into comparison as he stated that the Arsenal goalkeeper would not settle for a club, whose standard is not at par with that of the Gunners.

He also added that accusations of his son smoking in the dressing room were made up and he went a step further as he claimed that it was absolute bollocks. His views were initially believed to be fair reflection of that of the 25-year-old shot-stopper, but he cleared the air as he posted a moving message on his Facebook.

Wojciech Szczesny admitted that he should not be dealing with such emotional trauma, especially when the FA Cup final is just hours away, but announced that he did not share the same view as his father claiming his gratitude for the club and Arsene Wenger. Much like his father, the goalkeeper went a bit too far as he branded his comments idiotic.

“I really shouldn't be dealing with this one day before the FA Cup final, but my father leaves me with no choice.

I have not spoken to him in more than two years and just like everybody else, I have had enough of his idiotic comments about Arsenal and Arsene Wenger to whom I owe so much.

Therefore, please do not consider his comments as my shared view. Thank you for your understanding.”

Arsene Wenger has not made it clear who would feature between the sticks at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening, but given the recent controversy, it is highly unlikely that Wojciech Szczesny would be mentally ready to face such a demanding task. You never know.
