Manchester City seem to have cooled their interest in sought-after midfielder Paul Pogba after realizing that Real Madrid are well ahead of them in the race to sign the French international and have apparently made Jack Wilshere his alternative.
Despite strong interest from the Citizens to bring down Jack Wilshere, or perhaps, a dynamic home-grown talent, the England international did not seem impressed and pledged his entire footballing career to the Gunners.
While speaking to Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, former Arsenal manager George Graham stated that the midfielder would go on to become a top-quality player in the event of improving his abilities.
He also had his share of words on the rumour asserting that Arsenal would retain the services of the 23-year-old at any cost.
“Jack Wilshere is young enough. He’s an outstanding player, but he’s still got to improve as well. If he improves on what he has got right now, he’s going to be one of the top midfield players.
“I would think Manchester City and other big clubs would like to take him, but the best is still to come from him. There is no way Arsenal will sell him at the present time.”
Despite the numerous injuries that he had to sustain throughout the course of his career, he has managed to produce match-winning performances for country and club alike and Arsene Wenger would not risk losing his talisman for any amount of money.
