Arsenal, who have apparently entered the fray for the signature of Baba Rahman, are reported to have advanced to holding talks with his agent nudging out interests from rivals Chelsea and Manchester United in the progress.

The 20-year-old was a revelation last season playing a major role in the German outfit's successful campaign which saw them finish fifth, thereby qualifying for European competition next season.

His industry has brought him to the attention of European heavyweights, including Real Madrid.

According to German publication Bild, the Gunners have held talks over a potential summer move with Sascha Empacher, who represents the player.

Arsene Wenger will not have troubles getting his man as his coach Markus Weinzierl claimed that he would be helpless to reject a bid in the region of £14million to £18million.

"We believe that Baba Rahman is important to the squad, but if a transfer fee of €20million to €25million comes in, Augsburg will eventually become weak.”

Arsenal already boast two top-quality left-backs in Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs and the Ghanaian international will not have it easy in the English capital, but he can be tipped in to take over the reign in the near future given his undoubted quality.

Baba Rahman has skippered his nation in youth level and despite his age, has managed  eleven starts for the senior side and can prove to be a reasonable signing for Arsenal, if their manager readies a sensational bid for him.
