Media outlets such as the guardian are now starting to report that Theo Walcott has signed a new contract at the club. The contract is believed to be four years in length and wages at £120,000 per week.

This would be great news for the football club especially after the announcement of Petr Cech yesterday.

Walcott who is 26 years of age and has been at the club for 9 years is just about to hit his peak. This is the main benefit of securing Walcott’s signature.

Walcott who can play on the right or up front is a great deal especially when you look at his goal scoring record at Arsenal. Walcott has spoken about his desire to play up front and has improved his is improving in that position.

This has been backed by Arsene Wenger as he had the belief to start him up front in the FA Cup final.

Overall, this is great news and represents an important piece of business by Arsenal. Walcott now has to deliver week in and week out especially being the 3rd highest earner at the club.

This is important as Walcott is a great finisher and has great pace which is much needed in that forward position.  However, this is only start Arsenal must now kick on and fills the required positions.
