Maurizio Zamparini has made his mind up to tempt wantaway striker Joel Campbell into signing a contract with Palermo this summer as he flies to London to accomplish the same, according to reputed journalist Gianluca di Marzio.

Joel Campbell has never really been able to emulate his displays that won him accolades in World Cup last year at the Emirates Stadium thanks to his opportunities being limited, but there was only a little that he could do to dethrone Olivier Giroud as an automatic starter.

Failing to cement a starting berth, the Costa Rican international found himself being loaned to four clubs in four seasons. As it has become obvious that a breakthrough is highly unlikely, Arsene Wenger may be forced to flog him as early as this summer.

The 23-year-old has undoubted potential to become an instant hit in a club like Palermo, who have recently lost their talisman Paulo Dybala and the right winger need not think twice before joining the Italian side as playing regularly could also boost his national team opportunities.

In the event of Joel Campbell sealing the switch, Arsenal will look to fill his void with a world-class striker such as Karim Benzema or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and with the financial constraints now ripped apart, this transfer could be a blessing in disguise.
