All summer Arsenal fans have been saying that we need a world class striker and many pundits and fans would not disagree. It now seems that Arsenal have stepped up this pursuit as they have been linked with names such as Benzema, Lewandowski and Muller.

All three players would command huge transfer fees but would all improve this Arsenal side. In the case of Benzema there has been speculation all summer however, the latest development seems that Arsenal may be close to agreeing a fee. That is if you listen to Talksport.

Former player Rodney Marsh claimed Arsenal have had a £48 million bid accepted by Madrid. However, he claims he mate told him this who he considers reliable and he has never got anything wrong before. He went onto say he doesn’t think it will happen as it is not in the media however, Arsenal often keep these deals quiet much like when Mesut Ӧzil was signed.

Moreover, the Daily Mail today claim that Arsenal were preparing offers of £50 million for duo Muller and Lewandowski. This did not happen as Bayern Munich told Arsenal no as it seemed there was only an enquiry.

One thing is for certain is that Arsenal know they need a new striker. The question is will they get one. This question is yet to be answered but if they are too sign a new striker it needs to happen quickly as the deadline is fast approaching.

The positive within all this speculation is that Arsenal are being linked with stellar names unlike the days of signing Park Chu-Young.
