Arsenal have entered a skirmish with fellow Londoners in Chelsea and Tottenham for the signature of Luka Jovic, who has been a revelation in Serbia this season, according to reports from the Portuguese media.

The 17-year-old has already managed to net three goals in eight games for Red Star Belgrade and his rise in prominence has brought him to the attention of European heavyweights Benfica, who are closely monitoring his progress.

Express, however, reports that Arsenal could surprisingly land the striker when he becomes available for grabs in the summer as he would only be just another forever-loanee teenage sensation amongst the loads at Stamford Bridge.

The Gunners boast one of the most promising youth setup in the country, having signed the likes of Vlad Dragomir only recently and the arrival of the Serbian youth international could make them a force to reckon with in the future.

As he has already been given regular first team action by Miodrag Bozovic, he may not want to settle only for cameo appearances even though it is for a club of the stature of Arsenal and thus, a loan move back to his boyhood club will sound sensible in the event of Arsene Wenger snapping him up.
