Manchester City could complete a move for Arsenal's first-choice right-back Hector Bellerin this summer, Mundo Deportivo reports.

Dani Gil of Mundo Deportivo alleges that the Citizens are currently "the highest bidders" for the player, who is valued at around £43m. His agent, Albert Botines, has already flown to England to discuss with the defender the idea of moving to another English top-flight club.

The 21-year-old recently admitted that he did not ponder leaving Arsenal, but the Spanish publication now suggests that he is intrigued by the prospect of playing under former Barcelona coach and his compatriot in Josep Guardiola.

Bellerin enjoyed a brilliant 2015/16 campaign that saw him replace France international Mathieu Debuchy as the first-choice right back. Making 36 competitive starts and 8 substitute appearances, he has established himself as a potential world-class talent. His heroics have not gone unnoticed, however, as he was included in Premier League Team of the Year last season.

However, his performances have also caught the eyes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain, besides the Citizens. Holding on to the Spain international will be one of the prime objectives this summer.

Arsene Wenger will have a wealth of right-back options at his disposal even if Bellerin departs Emirates Stadium. Debuchy is contracted to Arsenal until June 2019; injured Carl Jenkinson will shortly be available again. However, Arsenal can be tipped to turn down any bid for their prized asset as they will not want to flog their best young talent to a direct title rival.
