News broke around 10.30PM on Monday that Jack Wilshere would be allowed to leave Arsenal in order to regain fitness and play games. This will be allowed to happen as he is currently sixth choice.
This news comes after Wilshere was axed from the England squad on the reasoning he hasn’t been playing. Although, Wenger doesn’t want him to go permanently as he sees him as part of his long term plans. This means it would be a loan.
Who’s interested
There are no concrete offers yet but there is one thing for sure Wenger will not let him go to a top 4 rival. It seems at the moment Juventus may be front runners after the sale of Paul Pogba.
Pros
The impending departure of Jack Wilshere has caused many fans to be split of on the decision to even consider it. One of the positives is that Wilshere can go away and play each week which will allow him to regain his fitness and get games under his belt. This may then allow him to return to the player he was before he got injured.
Cons
However, Wilshere has got great quality and offers something different in the middle. It is almost a guarantee that Arsenal will have an injury crisis at some point and there is nothing to suggest that this will change. If Arsenal lose Ramsey and Cazorla we then lose the creative spark in the middle what they offer.
I for one will be gutted to see Wilshere depart on loan. We have put faith in him every time he has gone down injured and always believed that he would return to the player who dominated Barcelona. However, it must be understood that if he is fit then he wants to play as he has missed several years through injury. The only concern with this loan is it may be the beginning of the end. If Wilshere leaves now then Arsenal may move on without him and that is upsetting. Wilshere is the closest thing to Mr Arsenal someone who has come through the Academy and lives and breathes Arsenal.
In my opinion Wilshere should stay and fight for his place as he will get games and personally I would play him next to Xhaka at the expense of Cazorla as Wilshere is more of a long term option. The decision to let Wilshere to depart may cause more unrest in the fan base which will not be good as it is already toxic.
