According to reports from Italian outlet Transfer Market Web (the Daily Star in English), Arsenal are currently casting a close eye on Porto sensation Otavio.
Arsenal fans were most certainly left very frustrated at the start of the summer due to the fact that the club were taking too much time in strengthening the squad.
While Arsenal did secure the services of Granit Xhaka and Rob Holding pretty early into the transfer window, fans really had to wait for the Gunners to finally bring in a top class central defender as well as a striker.
Following much speculation, Arsenal finally sealed the deal for Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez late into the transfer window and the North London giants finally seem to have assembled a squad which is capable of challenging for the Premier League title this season.
Things are going very well for Arsenal at the moment and unlike previous seasons, there does not seem to be a clear area of weakness in the team.
Nonetheless, manager Arsene Wenger is unsurprisingly not stopping in his relentless pursuit to improve his squad and a number of names continue to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks.
Arsenal eyeing another talented attacker
Now if reports from Italian outlet Transfer Market Web are to be believed, it has been claimed that Arsenal are currently considering a move for Porto wonderkid Otavio.
Otavio is an extremely talented attacking midfielder who has managed to impress during the current campaign for Porto and as a result, it has been no surprise to see the 21-year-old courting the interest from a host of top clubs.
Arsenal are believed to be among the teams keenly monitoring Otavio and rivals Manchester United have also been mentioned as admirers of the young attacker.
While Otavio could be a very good addition for Arsenal, he only signed a new contract with Porto recently which increased his release clause to a whopping £54.5 million and considering the fact that the Portuguese giants are under no pressure to sell their prized asset, a transfer to the Emirates Stadium coming into fruition looks unlikely anytime soon.
