Speaking to Arsenal player, Aaron Ramsey has gone on to explain the logic behind his decision to snub Manchester United for Arsenal.

Ramsey was considered as one of the most promising young talents in Europe when he broke into the scene at Cardiff City back in 2006 and at the age of just 17, the midfielder had found himself being courted by some of the biggest clubs around England.

Giants Manchester United and Arsenal were the two teams who were very keen on securing the services of Ramsey and evidently, the Welshman decided to go with the latter after Cardiff City had accepted offers for him from both clubs.

The midfielder was believed to be a Manchester United fan during his childhood and many were surprised at the fact that he decided to snub his favourite club to join Arsenal, especially with the Red Devils enjoying a lot of success at the time.

Now Ramsey has gone on to speak regarding his decision to join Arsenal over United and has explained that just a single meeting with manager Arsene Wenger convinced him to choose the Gunners.

Ramsey on why he chose Arsenal

The 25-year-old said, “I had to make a decision at the time [of signing for Arsenal or United]. I flew over to see the boss [Wenger] and I knew straight away that this was where I wanted to be, I wanted to be in his plans and I was just buzzing.

“I think I am a bit louder now than I was then! You understand how things go on and off the pitch a bit better. It only seems like the other day that I was signing for Arsenal, but there has been eight years in between – so it goes before you notice really.”

Ramsey has had his problems with injuries since joining Arsenal but there is no doubting that the midfielder is an exceedingly talented player and looks set to play a bit part for the Gunners in the coming years.
