According to reports from Transfer Market Web (the Daily Mirror in English), Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool are currently battling it out to secure the services of Paul-Georges Ntep.
Arsenal have most certainly made a very good start to their Premier League season so far and on current form, the Gunners finally look like they will be able to mount a genuine bid to claim the title during the current campaign.
However, Arsenal’s infamous November curse seems to be taking shape at the moment with worrying news that key players such as Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin have picked up injuries during the recent international round of fixtures.
Untimely injury problems have often proven to be the Achilles Heel in Arsenal’s title challenges over the past few years and there is every possibility that a crisis this season could well wreak the wonderful optimism surrounding the club at the moment.
Having seen it all before, manager Arsene Wenger will now surely be thinking about dealing with any injury crisis by strengthening the overall squad during the January transfer window and the Gunners have already started being linked with a few names in recent times.
Now according to Transfer Market Web (the Daily Mirror in English), it has been claimed that Arsenal are currently considering a swoop for French international attacker Paul-Georges Ntep.
Ntep has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal and the Gunners are now touted to renew their interest in the 24-year-old during the upcoming January transfer window.
Ntep is set to enter the final year of his contract at Rennes and with the winger showing no inclination to pen a new deal; the French outfit are believed to be ready to sell their prized asset this winter in order to avoid losing him for free.
Arsenal will face competition in the race to sign Ntep though as even rivals Liverpool are said to be interested in his services.
Ntep is a very talented young player and although he may not be a regular starter at the Emirates Stadium, the Frenchman is more than capable of being a useful squad player for the Gunners if indeed the injury crisis does hit the Premier League giants.
