Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, youngster Alex Iwobi has admitted that he did not expect to become a regular for the Gunners first team so early into his career.

Alex Iwobi is clearly an extremely talented young player and the 20-year-old has most certainly enjoyed a meteoric rise in his fledgling career so far.

Having broken into the Arsenal first team last season, Iwobi has managed to establish himself as a regular for the Gunners during the current campaign and he already seems to be ahead of the likes of more experienced players such as Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey.

While Iwobi still has a long way to go in order to fulfill his wonderful potential, the youngster seems to have all the makings of a potential future star for the Gunners.

The wonderful rise to prominence has been quite extraordinary and Iwobi himself has now gone on to admit that he did not expect to have already become a key player for Arsenal during the formative age of his career.

The youngster told Arsenal’s official website, "Honestly I didn't expect to be where I am today. I thought a long time ago that I'd be on loan and probably get experience there before having experience in the first team, but the fact that the boss trusted me to jump into the first team as quick as I did, I'm just grateful for it.

"The same way I was able to break into it is the same way that I take the chance now. I play like it's almost like my last game, I treat it like it's my last moment here, so I do my best and I always put 100 per cent into whatever I do.”
