Speaking after Chile’s astonishing 3-1 victory over Uruguay, La Roja manager Juan Antonio Pizzi has gone on to hail Alexis Sanchez as one of the best players in the world.

There were a lot of doubts regarding Alexis Sanchez’s participation ahead of Chile’s all important World Cup qualifier clash against Uruguay on Tuesday night as the attacker had suffered a hamstring injury in training just a few days ago.

Given the fact that such injuries should be approached with a lot of caution, it was expected that Sanchez would be ruled out of the clash against Uruguay but much to the surprise of many, not only did the 27-year-old feature but he also starred by grabbing a brace in Chile’s 3-1 victory.

Judging by the stunning performance on the night, it did not look like Sanchez had any injury problem whatsoever and the match was a testament to what a wonderful professional the Arsenal star really is.

Chile boss Juan Antonio Pizzi was understandably left extremely delighted with Sanchez’s heroics during the encounter and following the game, the 48-year-old went on to hail the former Barcelona winger as one of the best players in the world.

Pizzi was quoted saying by the Metro, “Individuals speak for themselves. Alexis is among the best players in the world. I am more in favour of emphasising the strengths of the group. And it is what allowed us to turn the game.”

Arsenal are certainly very lucky to be able to call on the services of a quality player like Sanchez and the fans will be hopeful that the Chilean is fit enough to continue his wonderful form when the Gunners square off against rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford in a must win clash this Saturday.
