Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, midfielder Krystian Bielik has gone on to state that he is ready to make the step up into the first team.
Arsene Wenger certainly has a knack for spotting young talent and many feel that the Frenchman’s £2.7 million acquisition Krystian Bielik will become the next big thing at the Emirates Stadium.
Bielik joined Arsenal from Legia Warsaw in 2015 and the young midfielder has been creating waves for the youth teams since his arrival.
The 18-year-old is currently the captain of both the Arsenal under-19 and under-23 sides this season, and many believe that it is just a matter of time before the teenage sensation makes a mark for the first team.
Bielik did get a taste of first team football during the Gunners’ 4-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup back in September and there is now a strong possibility that the Polish Under-18 star will feature in the quarter final clash against Southampton on Wednesday night.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Bielik has gone on to state that he is happy to have been included in the squad for the encounter and has insisted that he would be ready if given the opportunity to start on the night.
Bielik ready to star for Arsenal's first team
The young man told the Arsenal’s official website, “I’m really happy when I’m in the League Cup squad and when I’m on the bench. But if Mr Wenger chooses me to start in the first XI, I wouldn’t be surprised, I would be a little bit shocked but I would be ready because I work hard every day to do this.
“It’s a big difference between the under-23s and the first team but we make the step up because we want to be the best. It’s much quicker and you have to think more and faster on the pitch, too.
"You don’t have time to think about this. You have to be ready for everything. Hopefully Mr Wenger will chose me and I will do my best. That would be great.”
At just 18, Bielik has shown a lot of potential as well as confidence in his abilities and it would certainly not be a surprise if the youngster manages to make an impact against Southampton on Wednesday.
