Speaking to Sky Sports, Jack Wilshere has dropped a huge hint that he is looking to earn a new contract with Arsenal.
Wilshere made a shock loan move from Arsenal to Bournemouth over the summer and even more surprisingly, the midfielder has been making noises that he could be leaving the Emirates Stadium on a permanent basis next season.
Due to such an admission, the likes of AC Milan and Manchester City are said to have expressed their interest in securing the services of Wilshere, while even a permanent stay at the Vitality Stadium has been seen as a possibility.
Amid all the rumours though, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had insisted earlier this month that he is not overly concerned by Wilshere’s comments about potentially leaving and had added that the club are looking to begin talks over a new contract for the England international.
Now even Wilshere seems to have softened his stance regarding a desire to depart from his boyhood club and in an interview with Sky Sports, the 24-year-old has hinted that he would agree a new deal with Arsenal at the end of the current campaign.
Wilshere wants Arsenal stay afterall?
He told Sky Sports, "At the moment, my head is in Bournemouth. I know as much as everyone else knows. I read what the boss at Arsenal said and at the moment I'm focused on performing for Bournemouth and putting myself in a position where Arsenal want to offer me a new contract and I'm in a strong position at the end of the season.
"At the moment, I'm taking each game as it comes, working hard and I'm looking forward to the next six or seven months here at Bournemouth. We'll see what happens after that."
Wilshere has clearly found a new lease of life at Bournemouth this season and if the ex-Bolton Wanderers man can maintain a good run of form throughout the campaign, there is no reason why Arsenal would not want him back next year.
