According to reports obtained by Le Soir from Football Leaks (via Get French Football), Liverpool have inserted a clause into Roberto Firmino’s contract which bars him from joining Arsenal for any price.
Liverpool splashed around £29 million to secure the services of Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim at the start of last season and following a slow start to life in England, the Brazilian has firmly managed to establish himself as one of the best attacking players in the Premier League at the moment.
Liverpool certainly knew that they were buying a quality player in Firmino and now according to leaked documents obtained by Le Soir from controversial whistleblower website Football Leaks, it has been revealed that the attacking midfielder currently possesses a whopping £82.3 million release clause in his contract.
In addition to putting in the sizeable release clause, revelations have been made that Liverpool have included an outrageous stipulation that rivals Arsenal are barred from activating the release clause and the Gunners will not be able to sign Firmino at any price.

Such clauses are unheard but Arsenal did manage to irk Liverpool a couple of seasons ago by placing a £40,000,001 bid for Luis Suarez in a cheeky attempt to activate what they believed was the striker’s release clause and the Reds then openly proceeded to mock the Gunners for their efforts.
As a result of the Suarez saga, Liverpool may have inserted a clause into Firmino’s deal to bar Arsenal from even thinking about making a move for their new star.
There have been no reports suggesting that Arsenal hold a genuine interest in securing the services of Firmino and it has to be said that the alleged stipulation put into the attacker’s deal is very childish on the part of Liverpool.
