Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has remained coy regarding his alleged interest in securing the services of Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.

Alexis Sanchez is arguably the most important player for Arsenal at the moment and it is clear that the fans want to see the Chilean being tied down to a brand new contract as soon as possible.

However, Arsenal have not yet come to an agreement over a new deal for Sanchez and recently, rumors are starting to emerge claiming that the former Barcelona star could well consider leaving the Emirates Stadium if his demands are not met.

In shock reports from the Daily Mirror on Thursday, it was claimed that Sanchez is currently being courted by Chelsea as the Blues have identified the Arsenal star as the ideal partner for Diego Costa.

Naturally, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was queried regarding the claims from the Daily Mirror but the Italian boss refused to get drawn into any discussions about Sanchez by stating that it would be ‘disrespectful’ to talk about players from other clubs.

Conte coy regarding interest in Sanchez

As quoted by the London Evening Standard, Conte said, “I don't think it's right to talk about other players of other teams. It's not right. But now we are totally focused on the next game against West Bromwich.

“January or next season are very far (away) for us, but it's not right to talk about the players of other teams. It's a lack of respect for their players, their clubs, my team and my club.”

Sanchez is clearly a player whom any side would love to have in their respective teams and Chelsea are most certainly no different.

However, the claims from the Daily Mirror does seem like a ridiculous fabrication and even if Sanchez were to leave Arsenal, the Gunners would most certainly not sell the attacker to one of their fiercest rivals – especially having learnt a valuable lesson following the sale of Robin van Persie to Manchester United a couple of seasons ago.
