According to reports from ESPN FC, Premier League giants Arsenal are close to agreeing new contracts with the duo of Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin.
Most of the talk surrounding Arsenal at the moment has been regarding their protracted negotiations with the star duo of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, and it remains to be seen as to whether the Gunners will be able to tie down their two stars to new contracts.
Arsenal cannot be too preoccupied by negotiations with Sanchez and Ozil though as a number of other players in the squad are also nearing the end of their respective deals at the Emirates Stadium and the North London giants will most certainly have to focus their attention towards keeping every member of the team happy.
Now finally in contractual breakthrough which is certain to please the fans, it has been revealed by ESPN FC that Arsenal are close to tying down the duo of Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin to new contracts.
Giroud’s current deal at Arsenal expires in 2018 and there has been doubts regarding his long term future at the Emirates Stadium due to the fact that the striker has been left frustrated by the lack of minutes coming his way during the current campaign.
French duo set for new deals
Nonetheless, Giroud remains a crucial figure of the squad and Arsenal are said to have offered the French international improved terms to keep him in North London.
As for Francis Coquelin, his contract is set to expire in 2019 but Arsenal are keen on rewarding the midfielder as he has managed to establish himself as a key member of the squad over the past few seasons.
Both Giroud and Coquelin share the same agent and it is widely expected that the new deals for the duo will be announced in the coming weeks.
