Arsenal’s record goal-scorer and certified legend, Thierry Henry is to begin training with the Gunners again in December, during the close season for the MLS, where he currently plays for New York Red Bulls.

His return to the training ground has prompted speculation that Henry could once again put on the Arsenal colours in a third spell for the club.

Attacking options

Arsene Wenger is known to be looking to bolster his attacking options in January, with Gervinho away for six weeks at the Africa Cup of Nations, and Marouane Chamakh seemingly out of favour, the pressure is lying heavily on Giroud as the sole striker.

While Wenger may try to sign Atletico Madrid’s Adrian Lopez, if this fails, then a loan move for Henry would surely be a viable option, due to him already training at Arsenal and after his goal scoring loan spell last season.

He’s still got it

From what Arsenal fans saw last season upon his return was that though his blistering pace may have been lost, Henry hadn’t lost that eye for goal, proved most notably on his second debut against Leeds in the FA Cup, and also seen in this seasons MLS with 15 goals in 29 games.

Though the King may be 35, and not the player he once was, having him back at Arsenal will give the whole club a boost, and surely younger players such as Walcott can only benefit from having a player with his skill around the place. Not to mention that he wouldn’t be a bad sub to have on the bench and be able to bring on.
