With the transfer window on the horizon, thoughts have been running through my mind as to who we can snap up, in order to bring even more quality to this Arsenal side.
There have been rumours suggesting The Londoners have submitted a formal offer of around £10 million despite his £14.6m release clause. Not only has Adrian been linked with us but so has Demba Ba.
Do we need another striker?
Over the past few weeks both Walcott and Giroud have put in first class performances in games against Newcastle, Wigan and Reading. Which leaves me thinking, should we be looking for a striker in this upcoming transfer window?
My answer is yes. It is vital for a successful football team to have squad depth. If you look at Manchester City and United’s strike force they all have world class back up. Hence their success over the recent years. If Walcott and Giroud do get injured who would back them up. Chamakh? Arshavin? The lack of quality in squad depth is worrying, therefore Wenger should dig into his pocket and as they say ‘Splash the cash’.
It has become a habit that Wenger has been hesitant to spend a lot of money on a player and we have seen this season in Cazorla, Giroud and Podolski that when you buy big they deliver.
Adrian
Enjoy this video of his 19 goals last season:
As you can see from the video, Adrian is very good in the air and the majority of his goals were headers. As well as this, he can take players on.
It’s rare to find quick dribblers with close control and he has this. With Giroud upfront, many more quality crosses will be put in for him to get a head to.
Ba
After having snubbed a move to Chelsea in the early hours of today due to talks with Chelsea on Sunday, later described as unproductive., £7m-release clause is hanging by a thread at Newcastle.
As we saw this weekend, Ba proved his ability to score goals against the top teams. His movement, strength and finishing demonstrated his lethal ability. Ba brings cool finishing, Walcott brings pace and Giroud brings aerial presence.
These three combined could spark a strike force that could cause damage all over Europe, in the Premier league and could finally see a trophy brought back to the red side of North London.
