According to L'Equipe Yann M’vila looks set to leave Rennes in the winter.
During the last few months, M’vila’ attitude and footballing quality has been questioned. He has both been it with injuries and has struggled to break into the French national XI team. Bad behaviour off the pitch has been a factor as well.
But we do know the quality M’vila has. At the age of 22, he has it all going for him. A tall, 6’0 foot, well built holding central midfielder would settle into the Premiership quite nicely. It could be the birth of a new footballing legend.
The 22 year old French holding midfielder has been linked with both QPR and Zenit St Petersburg. M’vila’ agent knows QPR are only willing to pay €8 million but hopes for a higher bid for the rated star.
Over the last year or so, Arsenal too have been linked with a move for Yann M’vila and he is exactly what we need. Since the departure of Alex Song to Barcelona, our Midfield has lost the balance it once had.
Wilshere, Cazorla and Arteta are all very similar players. They like to get forward, support the attack and score a few goals but when the ball is lost, who is there to cover and break up the oppositions attack ? M’vila would be perfect no?
It is disappointing to hear that Arsenal have made no interest in the signing of M’vila after all the speculation. The purchase of Cazorla proves what talent you can find when you spend big and it doesn't look like Rennes are asking for a hefty sum of money.
We all know Arsene like a Frenchman and he does know the quality M’vila could bring to the side. It shows again that Wenger has been indecisive during the time the transfer window has been open.
But, there is still time on the clock..
