Arsenal have been linked repeatedly with a move for Atletico Madrid forward Adrian Lopez throughout January and the preceding month, with there being rumours of advanced talks and bids for the player, who has had a mixed campaign at Madrid due to a contract dispute.

However, no move has materialised as yet and Adrian himself has claimed to be unaffected and uninterested in the rumours surrounding his future.

Very happy

Adrian had this to say about the possibility of a move:

"We are used to them and do not take them seriously. I am very happy at Atletico."

On a clause in his contract which could see him move for €18million (£15.1m), Adrian added:

"I am happy here and it is my intention to continue here.

"The good thing at the moment is that the team is doing very well. I would like to stay for a while yet."

You hear this all the time from various players, most of whom end up moving, but with Arsenal's record the chances are he'll stay put until at least the summer, especially with Atletico flying high in La Liga this season.

He may even stay for longer, as he added he is discussing a contract extension, though he is in little hurry to sign anything. If Arsenal really want Adrian they need to get involved quickly, before another club come in or his affordable release clause is replaced by whatever price Atletico name.
