With Bacary Sagna likely to leave in the summer, Arsenal are looking to recruit another promising youngster from France to replace him in the right-back position.
20 year-old Serge Aurier is a major target to compete with Carl Jenkinson.
Competition
The player is highly sought-after in his own country, however. Toulouse have already received inquiries from Lyon and big-spending Monaco for his services, and he may prefer to stay in France.
However, Arsenal could give a tempting offer of first-team PL football along with whatever financials are involved.
Aurier is also highly sought among other European sides, as one of the best RB prospects in Europe right now, along with Sebastian Corchia of Sochaux.
So it won’t be easy prying him away, especially considering what Monaco can offer him, though they’ve been linked as a potential buyer for Sagna.
Arsenal could probably sell Sagna and buy Aurier without losing any money in net terms, which sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
