He is a player who splits opinions. On one hand he is an extremely technically gifted footballer, on the other he is the pantomime villain. Luis Suarez may divide opinions, but one thing which is certain is that he wants to leave Liverpool.

The 26-year old Uruguayan, who publicly stated that he wants to leave Anfield, scored 30 goals in 44 games last season for Liverpool, has said that he has ‘two or three options’, with one of these clubs believed to be Arsenal.

Arsenal bid for Suarez?

Though it may seem hard to believe, Arsenal have apparently put in a £30 million bid for the striker which Liverpool have subsequently rejected.

When asked about the offer from Arsenal, Suarez replied with: ‘It's good to know that after everything that's happened, teams in England still value me as a footballer.’

This does sound as though it has some legitimacy in it.

Really?

However, in all honesty I cannot see Arsenal spending £30 million on a trouble maker, who yes is undoubtedly talented, but has many problems.

Firstly, Arsenal would surely be mad to bid on a player who still has 6 games left of his League ban, and with a nasty streak in him which will in all likelihood see him involved in another controversial case.

In addition to this, when Suarez initially stated his reasons for leaving it was because he wanted to leave England, so this thus contradicts what he said previously.

Also, while Arsenal haven’t been known as much of a physical side recently, imagine a front three of Cazorla, Suarez and Walcott. This could quite possibly be the least physically-intimidating attack in the League.

I reckon the reason that these rumours have come about is due to the length of time the Higuain deal is taking. Arsenal may be trying to show Madrid that if they don’t sell now, then they will move on to another striker.

So, I wouldn’t go holding your breath on waiting to hear Suarez coming to the Emirates.
