Arsenal seem to be on self-destruct at times this season. Santi Cazorla was the best penalty taker in the team yesterday and should have taken the penalty.
Furthermore, they went 1 v 0 up then Giroud got himself sent off in a rush of blood to the head and then, after losing one goal they actually got away with conceding a definite penalty.
QPR have not won an away point all season but they were that close to getting one in this game.
In fact, they played well to get into the position in the first place and if they had to they would come back like they did against Stoke in the second half.
That proves they have the talent but it is their mentality that is letting them down. Good performances were displayed by the likes of Alexis and Flamini and the defense did better.
They need to consolidate their good play and put games to bed quicker and not make life so difficult for themselves and Arsene Wenger and the fans.
In so many games this season they have either started badly and had to chase the game or started well and let the opposition back in to the game. This can only be an issue with their mentality or organisational ability and is down to the manager and the leaders in the team doing their job.
Arsenal need to find proper leaders with the responsibility to organise the team to manage the games to stop these issues recurring over and over again.
The other side of the coin is that they did win the game and are in position to take over West Ham if they win tomorrow so the proof of the Christmas pudding will be in the eating.
Let's hope they can prove to us their organisational ability is improving and that they are capable of managing games before they take the field as well as during matches to ensure they don't shoot themselves in the foot again next time and make it a mountain to climb or throw away a good lead!
