This afternoon’s match saw a comfortable win for Arsenal. Today’s win moves Arsenal within a point of Manchester City.

Ospina - 6 – Very rarely tested pulling off just one save but kept a clean sheet.

Chambers - 6 – Good going forward and put some very good crosses in but looked shaky when defending.

Mertesacker - 7 – Defended well and never got into any trouble, put a key block in which was crucial after criticism against Monaco.

Koscielny - 8 – Koscielny was brilliant proving once again he is one of the most underrated defenders in Europe. Often nicked the ball in front of Sakho or defended well making sure the forward players went wide.

Monreal - 7 – A good defensive performance once again by the much improved Monreal. Monreal played well against difficult, tricky wingers in Jarvis and Downing.

Coquelin - 7 – Coquelin broke up the play once again and showed loads of energy in the middle of the park.

Ramsey - 8 – Ramsey looked like he was getting back to his best once again after starting for the first time since his injury. Often drove Arsenal forward playing the box to box role and was awarded with an assist for the first goal and then scored the second after great play with Giroud.

Ӧzil - 7 – Ӧzil was fairly quiet in the game but was involved in the first goal and had a shot well saved in the first half although Ӧzil does look like he may be returning to his best form.

Walcott - 7 – An okay performance by Walcott but looks a long way of being back to his best. Made some god runs in behind West Ham but lacked his finishing. However, Walcott kept on trying and will look back at this as a missed opportunity. However, he looks ready to play more minutes for Arsenal.

Sanchez - 7 – A fairly quiet game for the Chilean but showed great effort and desire again.

Giroud - 8 – A very good game by Giroud scoring a great goal on the stroke of half time also got an assist for Ramsey’s goal.

Welbeck - 6 – Looked lively when coming off the bench.

Cazorla - 7 – Got the third assist of the match after getting a much needed rest but showed his class.

Flamini - 7 – Got to play the final 10 minutes and scored the third goal.

Overall, a good win and now Arsenal go to Monte Carlo full of confidence and hoping they can win 3-0.

Quoting Le champ denmark:
Coquelin was brilliant, he rules the midfield with strength and stamina. Best player against the hammers. Him and schneiderlin next year , will be killers in defensive midfield. Coyg!

I agree that Coquelin was good, but he was not the best player. Aaron was the one who was brilliant, and with him back, we don't have to buy Schneiderlin.

Against monaco, I believe wenger wants to play his fastest defenders, thats why he is rushing gabriel back and I believe he will start against monaco. I expect our back line to be like......belerin-ga briel-kosienly-gibbs . For the midfield and attack, I will prefare coquelin, ramsey as the box to box midfielder, then carzola as the attacking midfielder. Upfront should be sanchez, giroud and walcott. With these players and hoping they turn up, also with luck on our side, we will qualify for the next round.

I believe Francis Qoc would have had the highest award of marks. He took charge of the midfield, silencing Song a silencing song at several occasions, supported Monreal and Central defense.
