Both teams shared the points in the north London derby but this was a much better point for Arsenal than Spurs. After seeing Manchester City drop points earlier Arsenal could have moved top by a clear two points. However, Arsenal were poor for 75 minutes of the game but an unlikely goal scorer in Gibbs made sure Arsenal got something.
Cech – 7 – Some nervous moments for the big goalkeeper but pulled off another great save to keep the game at 1-0.
Debuchy – 6 – An okay game by the French defender who put in some tackles and tried to get forward.
Mertesacker - 6 – Exposed at times and was nearly at fault for another goal when there was mix up with Cech.
Koscielny – 6 – Was at fault for the goal trying to play offside when he should have just stayed with Kane.
Monreal – 7- Thought Monreal had a good game making key challenges and got forward to good effect.
Cazorla – 5 – Cazorla was poor and horribly exposed in the first half. The pressing of Spurs really made him struggle and was substituted at half time.
Coquelin – 7 – Needed to make crucial tackles at times and played well considering there was limited help in the first half.
Campbell - 7 – Worked hard for the team and tested Lloris early on in the second half. Was probably one of the better Arsenal players on the day.
Ӧzil – 7 – Tried all match to try and make things happen and delivered the cross for the Arsenal goal.
Sanchez - 6 – Lively in the first half but didn’t really get a shot off. He didn’t track back as much as he usually does but probably needs a rest.
Giroud – 6 – Tried hard all afternoon but should have scored on at least three occasions. Also got into needless arguments with the Tottenham centre halves.
Subs
Flamini – 7 – Changed the game with his determination and character.
Gibbs – 7 – Gets a seven because he scored the equaliser.
Arteta - N/A – Didn’t get much time to influence the game
Overall, a fortunate point but we will take it as it keep us level with City at the top.
