Arsenal take the three point to make it back to back wins and move up to second. Arsenal controlled the first half and would have been disappointed to only take a one goal lead into half time. The first half goal was scored by Ӧzil but Sanchez laid it on a plate for him. Arsenal let West Ham into the game and would have equalised if it wasn’t for a Koscielny clearance.  Arsenal doubled their lead through Sanchez who then quickly added a third. Carroll pulled one back before a terrific goal by Oxlade-Chamberlain made it four.  Sanchez then got his hat trick with a wonderful fifth and took the match ball home.

Cech – 6 – Not a lot to do today but was calm and dealt with everything which came his way.

Gabriel – 7 – Played well defensively but lacks the attacking prowess of Bellerin.

Mustafi – 6 – Defended fairly well but West Ham lacked a threat.

Koscielny – 7 – Was excellent throughout and made a goal saving clearance.

Monreal – 7 - Was good defensively and offensively and often made sure he was the man over in attack.

Coquelin – 7 – Took charge of the midfield and keeps the side pressing.

Xhaka – 7 – Got his chance in midfield and showed that he is capable as Cazorla’s replacement. Gets the ball moving and can pick a pass.

Walcott – 6 – Quiet and fairly ineffective.

Ӧzil – 7 – Played really well and more effective with the movement of Sanchez.

Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7 – Scored an excellent goal and played well. However, failed to deliver a good ball all day but did look dangerous when he had the ball.

Sanchez – 9 – The best player on the pitch by miles and delivered in front of goal. His movement was excellent throughout.

Subs

Ramsey - 6 – Should have scored a goal late on.

Elneny –N/A – Didn’t have time to influence the game.

Iwobi – N/A – Didn’t have time to influence the game.

Overall, one of the better performances of the past few weeks. Five goals scored but it was disappointing to concede a goal. Next up in the league is Stoke but before that the Champions League concludes with an away trip to Basel.
