The Emirates had the perfect party atmosphere today. It was Arsene Wenger's 900th game in charge of Arsenal, probably Pat Rice's last home game for Arsenal in the dugout, and Yossi Benayoun's birthday.

And to add on to that, Robin van Persie showed off his silverware to the ecstatic fans prior to the game, after winning the FWA and PFA player of the year awards.

The party continued as Benayoun converted to give Arsenal the lead after 66 seconds, but it quickly died out as Norwich took charge of the game and were much the better team in the first half.

We came back in the second half and should have won the game, but that doesn't hide the fact that this was a pathetic performance from the Gunners.

Wojciech Szczesny - 4 - In all honesty he didn't have that much to do, but when he did, he failed to do so effectively. He should have certainly saved the first goal, but it's hard to blame him for the other two.

His defense didn't help him at all today, and the whole Arsenal team is to blame for that. But the Pole just didn't look comfortable out there today and made quiet a few mistakes that he wasn't punished for.

Bacary Sagna - 6 - For the short time he was on the pitch, Sagna looked solid. He got his head on to a few of Szczesny's goal-kicks, a new feature of Arsenal's play that we have seen in recent weeks and he also got forward well.

It's unfortunate his game had to come to an end so quickly, and by the nature of the injury, his season looks to be over, and his EURO chances appear to be in doubt.

Laurent Koscielny - 6.5 - A 7 would really overstate his performance, but he does deserve more than a 6. The Frenchman wasn't solid today, but he was brilliant on few occasions.

His positioning, so often the best part of the game, seemed to be off today. Like Vermaelen, Koscielny gave Holt and Jackson way too much room and his defending just wasn't convincing as a whole, as it has been this season.

However, he was quick to fix many of his mistakes. And on more than one occasion, he put in some tremendous last-ditch tackles to prevent the game from being over before half-time.

Thomas Vermaelen - 5 - Vermaelen was another unconvincing defender today. He didn't have a bad game, but he didn't do too well either.

He was also guilty of letting Holt make runs past him too often, and there also was the instance early in the second half when he let Jackson run past him so easily, only for the Norwich forward to shoot weakly right at Szczesny.

The Belgian defender almost got a goal of his own, but he was blocked really well by the Norwich defense.

Kieran Gibbs - 6 - Gibbs had a better game than most of the Arsenal players today. His defending was okay, but he was very good going forward.

He gave Arsenal another dimension on the left-hand side and had two amazing chances to score, the second of which came in the last minute of stoppage time.

Alex Song - 6 - The Cameroonian was definitely not at his best today. His defending was poor and his passing was lazy. Much like the whole Arsenal team, he was just too slow in the first half.

However, much like the whole Arsenal team, he really improved in the second half. His gorgeous over-the-top ball to van Persie, which the Dutchman converted to make it 2-2, earns him a 6 over the 5 his performance probably deserves.

Aaron Ramsey - 4 - I don't like to give Ramsey a bad rating, but his performance today deserved it. I am usually one of those people who stand up for the Welsh captain when Arsenal fans berate him for his poor finishing, slow passing, and lack of leadership.

However, the reason I do criticize him today is because this wasn't one of those performances. Normally, the one factor of Ramsey's game you can't criticize him for is his work-rate.

But today he lacked that, resulting in his low score. He just didn't look fully fit for the game today, and he refused to track back and defend on too many occasions.

His game today just lacked any sort of passion or determination, and that's why he deserves that score.

Tomas Rosicky - 6 - He tried, he really did. Rosicky deserves a 6 for his effort today. He was involved in everything that was good for Arsenal, and he is one of only a couple of players who it's hard to criticize today.

Yes, his passing in the first half was slow, but that was common for the whole team. Rosicky is a good player, but he can't be expected to win the game for the team single-handedly.

He improved a lot in the second half, and produced a few brilliant passes. But again, he is not a player who is capable of deciding the game by himself, and today, he lacked other midfield players to play with.

Gervinho - 6 - He was poor in the first half, but exciting in the second half. The Ivorian winger has a lot of potential and he caused many problems for the Norwich defense in the second-half.

He was tricky and full of pace, and he looks to be getting to his best form right towards the end of the season.

Robin van Persie - 7 - The Dutchman scored twice but missed a couple of sitters. It's hard to blame a man who has converted 30 times in the league this season, but he did have an amazing chance with only a few minutes to go, which he shot right at Ruddy.

However, his movement was good all throughout the game, and if he would have gotten more of the ball in the first half, this game could have been over before Norwich got hold of it.

Yossi Benayoun - 6 - The Israeli international had a solid birthday performance today, becoming the first Arsenal player to score on his birthday since Robert Pires did so in 2005.

He took his goal brilliantly well, and was one of very few players who actually took it upon themselves to track back and help the team defensively.

Regardless of whether that was his last home game for Arsenal, Benayoun deserves huge credit for all he has done for us this season. I don't know whether he has done enough to convince Wenger to buy him permanently, but he has been a great professional.

Benayoun went through large parts of the season as a fringe player, but he remained patient and has gotten many chances to play recently. And when he has played, he has been very good.

His work-rate is admirable, and he has very quick feet that can cause any defense one or two problems. He has shown tremendous passion and determination, especially for a loanee.

Frances Coquelin - 6 - Coquelin was an early substitute and he did very well. He was solid in defense and provided a good option going forward.

It doesn't seem as if he'll be getting too many games in his preferred central-midfield position, but he does look to be a very adaptable player. For those unfamiliar with him, he might just look like a proper right-back.

Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain - 5 - It's always exciting to see the eighteen year-old play, as it was today. But coming on as a late substitute, he failed to produce the decisive final ball.

Chamberlain is still learning, but he does like a winger with a very bright future.

Marouane Chamakh - 6 - I was impressed with him today, as I was last weekend against Stoke. Wenger correctly stated this week that some of his strikers (Chamakh and Park) have lacked significant playing time, and the club might look to offload them.

However, if Chamakh can come on and play like he has in the past two games, he could still have a future in the club. The Moroccan certainly offers us a different dimension, and he combined really well with van Persie late on. He also got his head onto a corner, which he almost converted really late in the game.

Whether Chamakh has stepped up because he wants to prove his Arsenal doubters wrong, or whether he is simply doing it to increase his price-tag and the interest in him, remains to be seen. However, playing like he did today, he might, might, just deserve a start at West Brom next weekend.
