A dull and disappointing draw, which leaves us chasing the pack again. The conditions didn’t help however it was the same for both teams.

Wojciech Szczesny – 7 – made an excellent save in the second half which ensured we left with a point but didn’t really have too much to do.

Carl Jenkinson – 6 – he didn’t have his usual attacking threat down the right today and his crossing was poor. However, he was solid defensively.

Per Mertesacker – 7 – saved us today on numerous occasions getting in some important, last ditch tackles. Another assured performance from the BFG.

Laurent Koscielny – 7 – showed why the captain was left out today. All he needed was a run of games to get back to his best. If he keeps playing, we could have a top, top centre half on our hands.

Kieran Gibbs – 6 – he lacked the attacking threat that he so often has down the left hand side on his return to XI. However, he was solid defensively. It’s good to have him back.

Mikel Arteta – 6 – I felt his passing wasn’t penetrative enough today. Instead of passing sideways I would like to see him try a defence splitting pass every now and then. He made some good interceptions though.

Aaron Ramsey – 7 – After being played in his preferred position of centre midfield, I felt as though he had a good performance today in what was a disappointing team performance. His passing was sharp and he had a decent effort on goal in the first half.

Santi Cazorla – 6 – After last week’s mesmerising performance vs Spuds, he failed to make the same impact today. His link up play with Giroud was brilliant at times however he wasn’t as influential as we have been accustomed to. He looks a bit jaded, but with Everton away on Wednesday, he’ll have to step up.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7 – I cannot understand why he was subbed off for Arshavin. You’ve got a young player who is eager to play and he gets subbed off for someone who looks like he doesn’t even want to be there. He was very direct with his runs and I thought he was one of our main threats today.

Olivier Giroud – 7 – I don’t think he had a clear cut chance today; however he never stopped trying for the team. His innovative flicks created several chances and on another day we would have scored from them. As with Chamberlain, I do not understand why he was subbed off for Coquelin. I like Coquelin, but it was a game we needed to be winning, and taking off our striker for a defensive midfielder was rather puzzling.

Lukas Podolski – 5 – I didn’t know he was playing today. I mean, usually he fades in and out of games and manages to nick a goal but he was really poor today. He needs to improve for the Everton game, as does a lot of the team.

SUBS

Andrey Arshavin – 4 – played a good ball into the box which was cleared well but other than that, he didn’t do anything. I don’t like watching him play at the moment because he doesn’t look like he wants it. I would like to see him sold in January and someone else brought in.

Gervinho – 3 – the most frustrating player I have ever watched. I have no doubt that he has ability but his decision making is terrible. I know he has just returned from injury but I expect an improvement.

Francis Coquelin – n/a – only on for less than five minutes and wasn’t really involved. However, his appalling cross/shot which turned out to be the last kick of the game was disappointing.

We are having too many of these games at the moment where we just don’t turn up.

A massive improvement is needed for our visit to Everton on Wednesday.
