More blogs soon

We should have some more blogs coming your way over the next couple of days so keep an eye out for that.

Numerous sources (BBC, Telegraph..) continue to claim that Arsenal are in for the French striker and his Argentinian teammate, Angel di Maria.

Yet with a number rumours surrounding certain Real Madrid signings could mean that Benzema is forced onto the bench and therefore could see him looking for a new club.

After Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Fenerbahce in midweek, rumours circulated that a £40million bid for Benzema has been produced despite the player’s current contract running until 2015.

After the opening day debacle, Arsenal got their season back on track with a much needed victory against Fenerbahce in Istanbul.

With matches already coming thick and fast, Arsenal have a chance to get their league season up and running against a Fulham side that secured a rare if unconvincing victory away at Sunderland on the opening day of the season.

Squad and injury news

The past few weeks have seen several injury scares bringing thousands of Arsenal into a state of panic.

Some of the injuries have not been as serious as first feared, and only Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby are out for the foreseeable future.

If reports are to be believed then Lukas Podolski could be going through the exit door of the Emirates very soon to join one of Schalke, Wolfsburg or Galatasaray according to the Daily Mail.

German newspaper Bild also back up this story but surprisingly add our rivals Tottenham Hotspur into the equation, although they don’t have any reason to believe we are selling the German international.

They do add that Schalke are keen to take him on loan with Arsenal paying a chunk of his wages. Bild believe that the former Bayern Munich player feels he needs to be playing regularly in a World Cup season and would be interested in joining the Bundesliga club.

We reported yesterday morning that former midfielder Mathieu Flamini was training with the club and could to sign for the Gunners, that appears even closer now after several reports this morning suggest he will be re-signing for the North London side.

Firstly the BBC’s David Ornstein revealed the French midfielder would be likely to sign soon, he said: “should be finalized in coming day. Will be used as defensive midfield and full back cover.”

Whilst the Metro’s Jamie Sanderson reports that Arsenal are trying to get the paperwork done for the deal before 12 this afternoon, so that he is available to play against Fulham on Sunday.
